Anushka is an actress as well as a producer in Bollywood. She has received numerous acting awards and is one of the most well-paid actors. Anushka's first time as a fashion model came in the year 2017, in which she was a model with Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week after which she was picked by Rodricks for a role in his spring-summer 2007 collection. Anushka, since making her Lakme Fashion Week modelling debut has appeared in commercials for brands such as Fiat Palio Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka began to audition for film roles as an actor and attended an acting class alongside her career as a model. In 2008, Anushka Sharma began her acting career with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. To prepare herself for the screen-test, Anushka Sharma took all day. Later, she signed up for three movies together with Yash Raj Films. In the movie she was the young bride of a middle-aged man (the character Shah Rukh Khan was playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka starred with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the film Badmash Company. It received mixed reviews. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she played an Punjabi middle class girl who set up her own company. The film was an unexpected success with a lot of praise. Anushka's contract for three movies under Yash Raj Films was completed with Band Baaja Baaraat.
