Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team later that year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. On December 8 it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two additional singles were also released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video debuted on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
